Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Things About Me
1. I'm so frustrated at my Aunt right now. There is no need to be such a jealous witch. Yes, that's how I feel.
2. I just finished the book "If Only It Were True". It was made into the film "Just Like Heaven" The movie was good but the book was even better!
3. I found out I absolutely adore Yankee Housewarming candles. They really do scent the whole house! I have the one that smells kind of like cut grass. Mmm.. :)
4. My mom and I have special Mother's Day plans. I can't tell you what because she might read this.
5. I was bummed to find out one of my favorite Christian singers Joy Williams is not going to be singing full-time anymore. (sigh) Oh well, I guess it is her own life.
6. I love our Tempurpedic bed but it is a pain to buy sheets for. I have to pay big $$$ to get sheets that fit the really thick mattress!
7. As of yet I haven't heard back from the job I applied for.
8. I did have an assessment and I hope it went well like I thought it did!
9. Finally, I got my doctors office to correct the Metformin prescription the pharmacy filled! Will wonders never cease?! :)
10. Hopefully, the progesterone they gave me this time works, and I get my monthly friend.
11. I still haven't had her visit since December.
12. I am turning into a Witch with a capital B!
13. Prayers continue for my mom and her boyfriend Mike. That they find a really good counselor for the two of them and that it helps them with their relationship. I can tell they really love each other & it seems pretty obvious to me that they are/can be great together.

The Rich & The Poor
country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live.
They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be
considered a very poor family.
On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the
trip?"
"It was great, Dad."
"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
"Oh yeah," said the son.
"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.
The son answered:
"I saw that we have one dog and they had four.
We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a
creek that has no end.
We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.
Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.
We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond
our sight.
We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.
We buy our food, but they grow theirs.
We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to
protect them."
The boy's father was speechless.
Then his son added, "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are."
Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if
we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we
don't have.
