Stress Doesn't Kill, But It Maims!

I see that I have a lot of updates to do. But, I don't wanna. And, since this is my blog, I won't. Hmmpth!

Ok. Fine. Have it your way. My husband was able to go back to Connecticut with his brother. They left on a Sunday morning, and came home Wednesday evening. The trip went extremely well. They met family they had never met. Including one brother and two sisters! That was really cool. Since I am a foto freak, he came home with about 250 pictures on our digital camera. He takes good pics. I was thrilled!

Money is still not my friend. We were able to borrow money from family. There are a few stipulations though. We have to work our butts off to get a home equity loan. If we cannot do this within 30 days, we will put the house up for sale, to pay them back that way. They will be making money on the deal too, regardless of how they get it. We are borrowing $7,100 to pay off our outstanding debts. And, they get $8,875 at the end. What are our outstanding debts? Mortgage payments, car payments...you know, stuff like that! I am thankful to God that he provided this for us. I am thankful to my family for helping us. Bottom line? I am thankful.

Pretty soon I will be working two jobs. Obviously, I do not believe I am tired enough. Or, it could be the $$. I will be working for the school district as a Special Needs Bus Monitor (as I have for 5 years now) and also at the Shoe Store on weekends. It will be good because when we have vacation days or weeks at the school district, I can work extra at the Shoe Store. Pretty good deal. It will definitely help.

We have family in town right now. They are here until Saturday morning. It is so nice to see them. WAIT a second...I have not seen them yet. Why? I have been working. (sigh) But, I have today and tomorrow off. Woo Hoo!

My father in law (the one that just had hip replacement surgery) is out of the hospital, and in a nursing home. This nursing home seems to be so much better. I will have to take someones word on that because I haven't been able to make it down there. Why? I have been working. (sigh) Do you notice an ongoing theme?

My hubby got up at 4:30 am this morning. He is a fishing-aholic. It's good though. He spends time with his buddy and it is a great stress reliever for him. NOT for me. I have not tried. He has stopped taking me with him. Maybe it's because I revealed that I always pray he does not catch something! He knows God responds to prayer! hee hee!

Ok. Now that I have spilled my life....what about you? What's going on in your life right now that I don't know?

List 5 things about your life at the moment. Well, I am waiting... (tap, tap, tap - impatiently)

Oh, and about my hubby's car? It needs a new engine. Something about the "head being cracked" I believe. (sigh) But, I am in a good mood! Go figure! It must be the intensive prayer!

Pictures People, Pictures!

I wanted to be the first to announce that I have a new photo album. Granted I don't have too many pictures in it yet. But, it is there. I made it for my hubby and brother in law's trip to Connecticut. Go down to the bottom of my page (or near it) and on the left hand side you should see a picture to click on. Let me know what you think!

God is Good

All I have time to say right now is that God is good. Even if I cannot see how things will work out, I am trusting Him. It may not sound like much, but believe me, it is. Faith is not neccessarily an easy thing to grasp or to put into practice. It is one of those things that God is hitting me over the head with. (No, he's not violent!)  :0)

Good night, and know that even though I am not around much right now, I am thinking 'bout you guys!

Bigfoot Has Been Spotted!

medium_slipper.gifTalk about BIG feet! Since I've been working at a Shoe Store I've been noticing feet more. Now, feet are not my favorite thing, but I got some new slippers. Man, are they cute! I had to cut the tag out, and I noticed the size in a bunch of different countries measurments. According to the label, my slippers are: 41.5-42.5 in Europe 26-27 in Mexico 7.5-8.5 in the UK and to me in the USA they are 9-10's Typically, I wear 8.5's but with these I wanted big, fluffy, cushiony comfort! :) And, they are!

Woo Hoo!

They are home! I've missed Tom more than even I realized. And, the awesome part, they had a truly memorable trip. I've heard so many good things about everyone they met back in Connecticut.
Now, it's great to be able to say that Tom and Marty have 2 more sisters, and 1 more brother! Their names are Alisha, Connie (Cat), and Briah. Even though Tom & Marty were only there from Sunday to Wednesday, they loved spending time with all of them.
I asked Tom what it was like to meet all of them for the first time. He said, "It's like we never were apart."
Isn't that sweet?! I am so glad for them.
Now, I want to be able to meet everyone! :0)

News Flash

Warning: I am going to be a whiney butt.

I miss my husband. I haven't had to be away from him this long since he was in the Marine Corps. He was discharged in 1998. It's been awhile. I don't know how to handle myself with him gone. I am attached. I think that's a good thing. I mean, after all, we've been married for 8.5 years now!
I'm not like some gals I know that rejoice when their hubbies are away. Nope. I whine. I mope.
However, in this particular situation, I am happy too. I am happy that he got to go with Marty to their dad's funeral. I am thankful he got to meet his half siblings, and sight see. I know that this is a blessing from God, and instead of just moping, I will be grateful.

Also, please remember my father in law, Don, in your prayers. His hip replacement surgery is tomorrow morning at 10 am. And, keep his wife, Betty in your prayers too. We are all understandably nervous about the surgery, and how he will do during it, and after.

Thanks for your friendships and prayers. You truly are a blessing!

Where Is My Husband?

This sounds like an odd question. Really, it is just to get you to wonder. I know full well where he is. Well, maybe not full well. But, mostly. He is in Connecticut. Yep. Thomas and his brother Marty are now back east. They were able to go back there for their dad's funeral. They left this morning way early. (I know, cause my mom and I took them) They will be gone until Wednesday night. Ick. I hope they have good family and vacation time despite the sad circumstances. That's all for now.... Talk to you soon!
