Chiropractic Hoorah!
Today was another regularly scheduled Chiropractors appointment. Yep. Can't seem to give it up. :o)
He asked me, as usual, where I was hurting. Typically, it's the middle of my back, or my neck. It was.
I laid on my tummy and he started using the massager tool on those two areas.
Suddenly, I was completely hurting in my lower back. I mean, it almost made me unable to breathe deep.
The odd thing, to me, was he hadn't even touched that area. It was like my lower back was jealous of all the attention!
After he was done with my neck he moved on to the painful area.
I nearly cried.
Even after he had "popped it all back into place" it still hurt and I told him so.
He then said that he knew my insurance didn't cover the other table but that he thought I needed it.
It was an amazing machine. You lay on your back and it runs along down your back massaging it.
I could've stayed on it forever! But, the treatment is only for 9 minutes.
I was thinking "How much is this going to cost?" and then "It's way worth it!" :o)
The receptionist came into the room and said, "You're very lucky. The doctor isn't going to bill you for this treatment."
Wow.
What a good day.
All that and it was a half day of work too!

Stories...
Tonight we watched the movie "Dreamer". What a wonderful, family movie! It is inspired by a true story. It's about a girl, her father, and their horse. Of course, I cannot spill the beans on the exact storyline cause you need to go out and rent it. :o)
It has Dakota Fanning and Kurt Russell, so you know it's good!
Yesterday was an extremely frustrating day. It started out good and stayed that way until the afternoon run. Don't work with your good friends. Don't get stuck on a bus with them for 7.5 hours Monday through Friday.
She is known as Crazy Betty. She is fun loving and optimistic. She has a naive childishness about her. She also can be very stubborn. She can take out her frustrations in ways less seen.
I know her as not many people do. They see the "WOOHOO tada!" that is Crazy Betty. She's like a super-hero. I see the flesh and blood 65 year old woman.
The kids were, shall we say, hyper? Yeah, we'll go with that. Eventually the "most hyper" of the bunch were dropped off at home. That left 3 kids. They are all between 9-12 years old. The reason they are on our bus is because of behavioral issues. They are in special classes to help them deal with things. One of our kids, I will call him "AJ", has a lot of issues. He's a good kid but he doesn't show it a lot.
When we stopped at a students house, he unbuckled his seatbelt, got another students backpack, and returned it to them from the floor.
Frickin' Amazing!! I didn't ask him to do it. I was so pleased!!
They are finally starting to listen and learn. WOW!
Then, the shoe dropped.
"You didn't ask to unbuckle." Betty said.
Now, while it's true that we have neccessary rules, this was not the time for her to broach this subject. I felt it undermined the good thing he did.
So, I said, "He was getting J.'s backpack." in his defense.
She replied, "He didn't ask to get up, and he unbuckled before the bus stopped."
"No, he unbuckled after the bus stopped." I answered.
Now, I know we are supposed to be a team & present a united front to the kids, just like good parents. But, I was frustrated with her attitude.
She continued on saying that she had seen him unbuckle before we stopped, yada yada yada...
Finally, I held up my hands in front of me and said, "Ok. Stop."
"You're. Telling. Me. To. Stop?" she asked incredulously.
"Yes. I don't want to argue anymore." I responded.
"You're not arguing. I am."
"Well then, please stop."
"I'll stop when I want to stop."
Silence.
Is it only me who thinks she sounded like one of the kids?
I was so mad that I cam *this* close to making her stop the bus and let me off. I think if she weren't our landlord too I would have.
I didn't talk to her the rest of the way back to base. I cannot imagine seeing her Monday, nor do I wish to. If I could, I would NEVER go back.
Yes. I am that mad.

Neener, Neener
I will say this, in response to my week, "Neener neener! Tomorrow is Friday!!"
Not that I've had a particularly bad week mind you.
But, there's something about a whole bus full of children hacking and sneezing that makes a person insane.
I wanted to walk around with a medical mask. But, then I would look like Dr. Julie- Medicine Woman!
I've also been looking around online at Cruises for my and hubby's anniversary this next December.
It will be our 10th so it needs to be special. Oh, and one other thing. Affordable. Hmm.
That puts a strain on it. Anyone have a cruiseline they LOVE?? Or, for that matter, one they HATE?
It would help me tremendously. But, only if I get the info ASAP.
Thanks.
And, to you, week, "Neener, Neener!!" :o)

No More WB or UPN?!?!
Apparently, they are sick of competing. Although, personally it wasn't much of a competition in my eyes anyway. I very rarely watch UPN. The WB on the other hand is practically my favorite station.
Hopefully, it stays that way.
I found this article in the Philadelphia Daily News that says the two networks will be merging in Sept. They will cease to exist seperately, and be forever known as The CW. HUH?! I'm not sure that will roll off my tongue the same way "The WB" does. They are stated as trying to keep the UPN's following of younger and minority viewers.
We'll have to wait and see!

Ouch
"Chronic tension-type headache is a daily or continuous headache, which may have some variability in the intensity of the pain during a 24-hour cycle. It is always present. If a sufferer is taking medication daily or almost daily and is receiving little or no relief from the pain, then a physician should be seen for diagnosis and treatment.
Chronic tension-type headache can also be the result of either anxiety or depression. Changes in sleep patterns or insomnia, early morning or late day occurrence of headache, feelings of guilt, weight loss, dizziness, poor concentration, ongoing fatigue and nausea commonly occur. One should seek professional diagnosis for proper treatment if these symptoms exist."

30 Minutes?
I made one of Rachael Ray's famous 30 minute meals last night! Roasted Rosemary Lemon Chicken & Pesto Potatoes...Yum-O! But, one problem. It was most definitely not a 30 minute meal for me! :)
I am not quite as quick when it comes to dicing and all that jazz. Still it was yummy.
VERY lemony. Oh, yeah did I say that I also added the lemon juice in before i was supposed to? oops. I have a slight issue when it comes to following an exact recipe!

Octopus
Betty, my bus driver, dresses up every Friday. Today, she is an octopus. Uh huh. A blue and green octopus. It's a hat with big, long, dangly legs. She looks too cute for words!
My life is interesting being on her bus. To say the least! :)

Newsworthy!
My mom seems to be getting better. She's had a nasty infection from what we believe to be a spider bite. Ick. Finally, and I'm not trying to be gross here, it's draining a bit. That should be a good thing.
Oh, and yea for me! I won tickets to a local Holiday Acoustic Concert this Saturday. Liz Phair, and Vertical Horizon will be playing. I am excited! Now, I just need to get way down in the middle of the city to pick up the tickets.
Ok. I will write more later. Hope ya'll have an awesome day! :) Hugs!

Rush
So many things have been happening lately.
I am not sure I can even put everything into words.
I am becoming increasingly frustrated with my job.
My husband is worrying that I am going back in time.
I used to have a job I hated, and I just started not going.
Ok. So, I've not been at work for the third day in a row right now.
And, I will admit that I have enjoyed it. I will even admit that I don't want to go to work.
That is not, however, the reason I haven't gone.
The first day was due to the fact that someone needed to be here when the guy came to turn on the gas, which didn't end up happening. Brrr.
The second was due to the fact that my mom had to go to urgent care because of an infection. She could barely move the next day. I needed to help her.
Today was because not only did she still need my help to a degree, I have been cramping due to my .
This is the second one (and a heavy one I might add) that I've had this month.
My head is spinning.
I think that is the only thing I am willing to discuss right now.
Hope you are doing well!
