Overwhelming
The loudness overwhelmed her
She longed to slip away
But, someone in the night time
convinced this girl to stay
No voice has she
No name, no plea
Only an ache
wide as the sea
Where is her spirit?
And when did it go?
Where is the truth
that once filled her soul?

Swiftly you enter my dreams
softly you kiss my lips
passionately you rip out my heart
I don’t mind much ,
yet.
only after you drop me like hot coals
will I realise my loss;
my innocence,
my heart
taken from me
without my knowledge
without my consent

Out the window she gazes

she let him
take her
someplace she'd only heard about
in bathrooms
and hushed secret conversations
it felt like love
in the backseat of a Chevy

love faded away
and she was left

Inadequate
Trying to find a way
to express my undying love
Just when I think I’ve found the words
They’re never quite enough
I stretch them and pull them
in a sad attempt to make them adequate
To no avail
They sit on my tongue
hanging on as if to mock me
I love you
hardly does justice
to the truth
